Ben Drummond
Headliner - Ben Drummond
Mix Alternative acoustica with Nusoul, flamenco and a healthy wedge of world sounds and you have Ben Drummond. With allegorical word play (to plant the seeds and not to preach) and songs that get the hairs on your arms swaying, Ben's music has influences ranging from Jack Johnson, U.N.K.L.E., Miike Snow, Beck, Ojos de Brujo and The Red hot chilli peppers. Ben recently performed live at the Molinueux football stadium to over 36,000 people and has supported a mixture of acts including The Blockheads and Biffy Clyro.
"Ben Drummond is my pick as the winner of The Music Studio, Vodafone Ones To Watch competition. After listening to all 5 finalists (of which there were some great potential), Ben jumped out as my favourite for several reasons. I used a very practical approach to who was my favourite, simply put - if I heard a clip of each of these artists songs which one would make me click BUY on iTunes or similarly if I heard one of these artists playing in a friends car while driving around, which one would I go home and google to find out more about. Ben is a true artist, I could see myself listening to the group of songs on his MySpace regularly… He has a great vocal range, cool lyrics, very unique sound and plays sitar which is a bonus. He could easily fit in the chilled out singer/songwriter world of Damien Rice or David Gray…. With a proper hit he could also have a real shot at radio, but the music in its current state is very album-buyer oriented, which is a good thing. My only critique of him would be that when a label or manager is looking for a new act to sign and really get behind- they want to see a decent amount of ‘booked’ shows on their myspace page….that is an indicator that the artist is really putting their best efforts into making things happen on their own, which is critical for long term success. I hope he starts playing some shows."

Stella
Headliner - Stella
It's hard to for me to categorise my sound as the songs have got a bit of everything thrown in; jazz, reggae, funk, hip-hop, horns, electric guitars, synths. I'm always surrounded by musicians and music in general so it's impossible not to be influenced by everything around.

I am so excited to be this month's One To Watch! It means a lot to have people liking what they hear so hopefully this will encourage everyone to listen to the songs on my myspace and become fans!

I Haunt Wizards is an innovative trio of kids reared on an exotic cocktail of Eighties pop culture and modern day dance music. Zac Holden, drums and James Lavelle, Synth, all 18 years old. With over 140,000 dedicated fans on Myspace alone and thousands more spread across other networking sites, its not hard to see why I Haunt Wizards is the most in demand and most searched for UK group, currently receiving 30,000 hits per day on their various websites.
