From the city of Angra do Heroísmo on the Azorean islands of Portugal, comes Flávio Cristóvam & The Jamandizen.. The band first started as a solo project from Flávio Cristóvam (Vocals/Guitar), who had wrote some material alone and planned to find a band to play with live… Growing up he used to admire all the musicians that later formed Jamandizen ( Timmy Lima - Guitar/Vocals; João Mendes – Drums; Raúl Cardoso – Bass). The band is currently working on new album to release soon entitled “The Closing Doors”.

Five guys, in the early 2005, decided to put heart, soul and beliefs in a rock band. Ella Palmer was born. On the same year of birth the band records its debut EP “Monogamy is impossible but everything else is worse” with producer Ricardo Espinha. It was a great boost and it allowed us to book plenty of shows and make a lot of friends/fans. 2008 arrives, the idea of a debut album gets shape and name “The longest journey”. The new album is out now so Dado, Bruno, Pedro, Bernardo and Luís are ready to show all of Portugal what they’re made of! Watch out 2009!

The group, who are now on tour promoting their debut album, won April this year an award on The People's Music Awards whose ceremony was held on London, gaining praises from the likes of BBC presenter Anne Nightingale, producer/composer Ian Sanderson or known XFM Producer, Eddy Temple-Morris and have been recently showcased by Myspace/Vodafone "Ones to Watch" in 2009, being the first Portuguese band ever to achieve such acknowledgement.
