Twenty years. When that point is reached in virtually any band's career, you pretty much know what to expect out from their live show. They'll come out, play the hits, and then gladly thank everybody as they make their way to the parking lot.

Thank God then for Weezer who are just now putting on some of the most unpredictable performances of their two decade career. When you see the Weez now, you can expect everything from trampolines to total strangers playing the trombone, which is why we jumped at the opportunity to have them play this very special Secret Show last week at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.

Even better, we got Seattle spazz-pop newcomers NPSH open up the show. Playing songs from their 2008 debut Glistening Pleasures, the co-ed troop quickly got the crowd moving, converting even the Weezer diehards that were so anxiously waiting for Rivers Cuomo and company to take the stage. This is a band that you must experience live and their infectious opening set proved exactly why.

But as they left the stage last Wednesday, you could feel the anticipation mounting for the night's headlining act. Next week, Weezer will release their seventh album, Raditude, and at this sweat soaked show, they played several songs from it including "I'm Your Daddy" and "Can't Stop Partying" (which found Cuomo rapping a verse that, on the record, is delivered by Lil Wayne).

But Weezer also reached deep into their catalog to play fan beloved hits like "Why Bother?" and "My Name Is Jonas," the later of which everyone but Cuomo sang lead on. That was a shock, but perhaps no more shocking than seeing Rivers smash and energy drink on his head during "Pork And Beans." Or, for that matter, watching him smash a ukulele into piece during the end of the band's set.

Words really can't do this performance justice, which is why you can see five clips of the show now on the Secret Shows video channel. From "Jonas" to "Pork And Beans" to "I'm Your Daddy, " see them all by clicking right here. Thanks to the guys in Weezer for making this such a special event, and big ups to NPSH, Blair at Boom, the staff at the Regency and all the fans in SF.

And, of course, thanks to our sponsor Citi by MySpace Forward for keeping these shows free. Remember if you want to get VIP treatment at the next show, you gotta sign up for the Citi Forward by MySpace card.

Thanks again everyone. We’ll see you at the next show…
