Who needs a gigantic rock festival when you have a few hundred fans sweating all over you? That seemed to be the question when Boys Like Girls and Breathe Carolina teamed up for this very special Secret Show in Seattle. After all, that same day thousands had gathered across town for the annual Bumbershoot festival.
But for those who lined up that mroning outside of the beloved local rock club El Corazon, this was the only game in town. And why not? The last time Breathe Carolina came through town they were playing on an outdoor stage at the Warped Tour. But on this night they were in their element, blasting through songs off of their latest album "Hello Fascination" alongside the soaked audience.
The crowd beloved duo then headed back to the merch area, where they were mobbed by fans. But only for a moment, because shortly after they exited Boys Like Girls took the stage, where they peeled through hit after hit, including their first smash, "The Great Escape." From there it was onto the title track from their new album, "Love Drunk," (and no, The Tis' wasn't in the building).
As their set came to racous a close, the Boston-bred band invited the audience on the stage with them where they asked for a dance party to ensue (which, admittedly, was a nod to openers Breathe Carolina). And then, just like that the night came to a choatic and sweaty close.
A big thanks to both the bands for playing as well Jen at Columbia, Nate at Fearless and the staff at El Corazon for making it happen.
